Quote of the month

Oh dear, it's May already, just one and a half months to my 30B30 due date and still lots to do! What happened to my life since last December was really out of my plans and had changed my life so much. That's why I didn't post much like I used too (and it's a bad thing). I was drowned so much in my problems, because trouble is like an unwanted friend that accompany me through the days. I got stressed-out and I guess it's so near to getting depressed. I know in my heart I want to quit this unhealthy lifestyle I'm going through right now (I'm working 12-14 hours everyday, not that I got more on my salary, and sometimes on Saturdays and Sundays too), but the logic part of me made me stay because I have bigger goals than that. So here I am... Losing almost 5 of my precious months of my 20s! But I'm not quitting my 30B30 list, I'm still trying to accomplish it. I've even done some of the list but haven't made a post and I have plans for the rest. 46 days to go =) it's a bit of a wake-up call! I got to make these last days count. Here we go, let's start from this:

Quote of the month

If your days are dull and gloomy, if everything that you do is not towards what you've dream of, if the days seems so long and the pain is never ending, if trouble comes over and over, I would love to hear this quote from someone =)

Quote of the month

This month quote is from Mr.A-Z himself, Jason Mraz. It's from his song "I won't give up", the one thing I really need right now. And I guess that three things are the things I have to learn everyday so I won't forget about my dreams.

Quote of the month

It's really a poem rather than a quote... It describes how I feet right now. I read it in one of Paulo Coelho's old post. It's about the feeling of total acceptance. Right now, I don't know where I'm going, but I will follow that guide that is inside of my heart, the one who tells me what to do and where to go. I guess I just need to listen to it more often.

Here comes 29 at 29!

My last year as a twenty something girl! So... HAPPY BIRTHDAY for me!! Well, it's not that I'm celebrating something... Actually, right now, I'm sitting alone at my rent room and almost doing nothing. This time, I just want to share my lovely moment, last June 22nd when it was Jason Mraz's early birthday (should be June 23rd) at his concert. I got this from Youtube (thanks for the guy who shared this!).  He told us that he wrote this song on his birthday and it was a very lovely song called "Mr. Curiosity" from his album Mr. A-Z. I wondered in what state he was when he wrote this song...

I'm looking for love this time
Sounding hopeful but it's making me cry
This love is a mystery
Mr. Curious...
And yes, I'm almost 30 but I'm still learning about love. And I think I'll never stop learning. And it's brilliant of Jason to addressed his feelings to Mr. Curious, because I think that mystery is just a part of one's life and sometimes we just have to let it to be like that...
Mr. Curious well I need some inspiration,
It's my birthday and I cannot find no cause for celebration
The scenario is grave but I'll be braver when you save me
From this situation laden with hearsay
That verse is true, I don't have cause for celebration this year, and yes I need lots more of inspiration. But being only one year to 30 (which I think I will be more 'adult' by then), I will take more risks in life to do what I've dreamt for. One year to go being someone in her twenties, I'm gonna make it the best that I could to live in the moment, and maybe my days will seem brighter =)

Quote of the month

"There is a work of art each of us was destined to create. That is the central point of our life, and -no matter how we try to deceive ourselves -we know how important it is to our happiness. Usually, that work of art is covered by years of fears, guilt and indecision. But, if we decide to remove those things that do not belong, if we have no doubt as to our capability, we are capable of going forward with the mission that is our destiny. That is the only way to live with honor." - Paulo Coelho

Quote of the month

A wise quote to start the year! I've started this year with a little bit too busy and neglecting some of the stuff I supposed to do. Then some bad news at my work place, but in the end of this two weeks I'm pleased that I got some wonderful things a long the way, like the two trips I'm gonna make! I'll tell you the details later on.

Today, I kinda feel so how the same as I did about two years ago, I don't know where I'm going. It's a bad thing because it's like my life has no meaning. Actually, I'm scared. It's so creepy and I wanna shake it off. Feelings like this first came when I almost graduated college, when things started to get so uncertain. And until now, I haven't got an answer yet. I've tried so many things, thought that it's gonna be my goal when it turns out not. I always wonder how can some people know what they want and stand up for it even in uncertainty? Is it about 'faith'? So I thought about it and I think that what i need is faith even though I can't see the whole staircase. Do sometimes feel that way too? And what do you do about it?

Quote of the month

I guess this is my last "Quote of the month" for year 2011. I started this year with so much hope and agenda, the one thing I'm proud of is that I kept my commitment on making at least one post every week. There have been moments where I was so busy or go bored or got sick or even had a very bad Internet connection, but I got through every single of it, and I'm proud of myself! I've read somewhere that we need to celebrate the good things in life before it will past us just like that, but I'm waiting just two more weeks to celebrate that. Why am I so proud while I know others have made much much more better blog than I do? Well, first, it because this is the first time I took a long term task and I don't quit! I've had so much issues in quitting long term things. Second, because I found so much wonderful things to share with you and I hope I could share more! And last, I kept some of my thoughts recorded! What a relief! Hahaha...

Quote of the month

November... getting near to the end of this year makes me totally mellow... And just like this quote says... avoiding things won't bring any peace (trust me!), specially avoiding how you are feeling from yourself... but... that was the exact thing that I do best. The result was, I became so much like Eeyore, so gloomy, gain TOO much weight, and even got a little insomnia. I considered this sad fact when I finally 'really' looked at myself in the mirror and not recognizing the girl in front of me... I've changed so much to the very wrong direction. I did knew it by heart, but never had the courage to do the opposite thing, so I turned to other things just to get through the day, the week, the month, and in the end, the year is almost over. I've come to a wake up call... I know I haven't have the courage yet to change whole thing around, but starting from yesterday, I have change little things. I try to sleep and wake up early and regularly, exercise 30 minutes in the morning, clean my living space bit by bit, start eating healthy food, chat with good ol' friends, and try to search little things that can make me happy. I trying to take things just in the pace that I can bare, and so far it feels good. I want to go back to the right track of being me again.

note: this picture is actually my photo from my very lovely visit to Tidung Island which I think is the right place for the word "peace".

Quote of the month

It would be appropriate if this month quote is dedicated to Steve Jobs. "Stay hungry. Stay foolish." was the closing of Steve's prepared text of the Commencement on June 12, 2005 in Stanford University. This phrase was actually his favorite phrase from the final edition of the Whole Earth Catalog, entitled Whole Earth Epilog (1974). I loved the idea of it. And it is still something I try to always be.

I won't write much, you just have to see it for yourself. It's inspiring.

The Zahir by Paulo Coelho

Have you ever felt like there's something or someone that's always bothering your mind? From the morning that you wake up until the end of the day, there's always something that made you think about that certain thing or person. And it sometimes just consumed your whole mind… Well, that's what this book is about. I found it an amazing reading. Couldn't stop reading and wondered if all of that was real for the author. I believed that the occasion would be different, but the feeling in this book is real. Paulo's have this great ability to captured life in his books.

A Zahir (or sometimes Zaheer) comes from an Islamic folklore about an object that traps everyone who takes a look at it. It made the person obsessed with that thing until the person cannot see reality anymore. In Paulo's case, the zahir was his lost wife (or you may call it ex-wife). After losing his wife mysteriously, I became obsessed to her. The void that his wife made, made him go to a search for her from the beautiful city of Paris to the majestic landscape of Central Asia. At the end, the search has became a search of the truth on his own life and made him understood the nature of love.

I love the story about why the railway tracks is always 143.5 centimeters or 4 feet 8 1/2 inches. It's an absurd measurement, why not make it 150 centimeters or 140 centimeters to be easy? It's funny but it's true and I won't spoiled it here for you.

This is something that Paulo puts it in a way I never thought before but I really agreed:
"The Zahir was a fixation on everything that had been passed from generation to generation; it left no question unanswered, it took up all the space; it never allowed us even to consider the possibility that things could change."
I think I have lived my life that way and I know that others do it too. And I have the feeling that I don't want to be like that, but in the other hand, I feel that I don't have the power to change it. It's a search that I owe myself and I will go for it.

When I read a book that connects me in a certain way, I always wondered if my story will end up the same. To be honest, I don't really like the ending of this story, but the journey itself is a wonderful journey to be followed.

It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn't matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.
~Paulo Coelho, The Zahir

Quote of the month

If you already know what your dreams are, what to do next? Pursue it? Well, it's easy to say it, but is it really that simple?

A lot of people often fail to pursue their dreams, not because they don't know how to get there, but rather not having the courage. I think that courage is like the fuel in pursuing our dreams. The way to get there or "the tool" will present itself if we have the fuel to start the engine. This is something that I considered a lot lately, do I have the courage to pursue my dreams?

Quote of the month

After making my 30B30 list and having my birthday, I am more aware on how I want to live my life. I want to travel, A LOT. I want to see the world and capture every thing that I could. I love seeing new places, having different atmosphere, and mostly the feeling that I'm part of this world. So the quote real encouraged me to do so! What do you want to be in this life?
